Chicago Pneumatic (CP) is a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of high-performance tools, hydraulic attachments, industrial and portable compressors and associated accessories and workshop equipment. The company’s key products in the vehicle service market include pneumatic impact wrenches, ratchets, drills, grinders, hammers, sanders and other body shop tools. Since 1901, The CP brand has served the Vehicle Service, Construction and Industrial marketplace.

Chicago Pneumatic Tools

In 2001, Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company celebrated 100 years as a pioneer and market leader in the pneumatic tool industry. When the company incorporated a century ago, pneumatic tools were a revolutionary new technology. J.W. Duntley, an ambitious foreman in a Milwaukee foundry, recognized the potential in these tools and set out to pursue his American dream with his partner, steel tycoon Charles Schwab.

As the industry’s most experienced manufacturer, Chicago Pneumatic has developed tools that helped build and maintain some of the world’s most recognizable landmarks. CP impact wrenches and riveting hammers were used to construct the Empire State Building and the Golden Gate Bridge, and the company’s concrete vibrators were partially responsible for the construction of the Hoover Dam, one of America’s Seven Modern Civil Engineering Wonders.

During World War II, CP produced the tools to fabricate, assemble and maintain the nation’s military equipment. As a result, one Chicago Pneumatic tool became part of an icon that symbolizes American character and courage. In the Norman Rockwell painting “Rosie the Riveter,” the famous factory worker eats her lunch with a CP riveting hammer lying on her lap.

Today, the brand is seen wherever high-quality tools are needed, ranging from the race track to the garages of some of the country’s leading custom car builders. Custom hot rod designer, builder and painter Rich Evans, owner of Huntington Beach Bodyworks, is a life long Chicago Pneumatic evangelist. In addition to using Chicago Pneumatic tools and compressors every day in his shop, Rich shares his tool insights with Chicago Pneumatic, helping the company develop tools to best meet customer needs.

About WIX Filters
www.wixfilters.com

WIX Filters celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2009, marking seven decades as the brand most relied upon for filtration performance, innovation and engineering in the on- and off-highway replacement parts industry. A member of the Affinia Group family of brands, WIX was founded in Gastonia, N.C., in 1939 when John Doanne “Jack” Wicks and his business partner Paul G. Crenshaw saw a need for filter replacements that would simplify the filter changing process. Less than two decades later WIX turned the filter market upside down with the invention of a spin-on oil filter design that quickly became the industry standard.

WIX Filters

Today, WIX designs, manufactures and distributes products for automotive, diesel, agricultural, industrial and specialty filter markets. Its product line includes oil, air, cabin interior, fuel, coolant, transmission and hydraulic filters for automobiles, trucks and off-road equipment. WIX is the number one filter in NASCAR and an exclusive NASCAR Performance Product. Its NASCAR relationship also includes the WIX Filters Lap Leader Award, which recognizes the drivers leading the most laps in each race. WIX has taken more than 40 years of knowledge and experience gained at the track and applied it to their premium filtration products in order to protect engines better than ever before.

WIX is a huge proponent of technician education and a long time supporter of the FFA and technician training programs nationwide. As part of their dedication to technician education WIX created the WIX Institute of Filtration Technology – a three day intensive, specialized training course involving filter construction, system functions and performance dynamics in Gastonia, N.C. For those who can’t make the trip to North Carolina, WIX created the WIX Filters eLearning Center which features convenient online courses covering light duty and heavy duty filtration. Participants earning a 70 percent or better on course-ending quizzes will earn the title of Certified Filtration Specialist. Throughout the process students can earn several certificates that will distinguish them as a provider of excellent filtration knowledge and customer service.
